The role
As a Delivery and Collection Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. In this role you will play a pivotal part in supporting the London Fire Brigade (LFB) keeping our country safe.

 

Day to day, you’ll provide a reliable, efficient, and courteous collection and delivery service on behalf of our customer. Collecting and delivering appliances, operational equipment, and consumable items on behalf of the London Fire Brigade. The role will include movement of all types of vehicles utilised by the LFB, to and from various locations within the LFB operating centres at approximately 102 locations and all LFB related Babcock Sites.

 

  • Provide a prompt, professional and efficient collection and delivery service that delivers customer satisfaction in line with company targets and standards
  • Ensure vehicles are collected and delivered on time and presented to a standard acceptable to the customer
  • Complete all paperwork and processes accurately and thoroughly in line with Company requirement.
  • Attend and participate in such training courses as deemed necessary

 

This role is full time typically 40-hours per week and will be based at our Ruislip site.

 

Typical work schedule:

Standard Hours: Tuesday to Saturday: 08:00am – 5:00pm

 

On-call details:

On-call rotation: 1 in every 5 weeks (7 days)

Hours: 1:00pm – 10:00pm, followed by overnight on-call status 
On-call compensation: £32.08 per day shift allowance, plus any overtime incurred out of contractual hours

 

Essential experience of the Delivery and Collection Driver:

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the Road Traffic Act
  • Good knowledge of Greater London postcode areas 
  • Previous collection and delivery experience

 

Qualifications for the Delivery and Collection Driver:

  • Category C / Class 2- licence 
  • Driver CPC   

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
