The role
As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the efficient and effective repair and maintenance of Military vehicles at RAF Valley, primarily fuel bowsers.


Day-to-day, you’ll maintain standards of vehicles to policy and procedure, whilst diagnosing and repair of Vehicles mechanical and electrical Components. Followed by test Driving Equipment once Maintenance or repair is completed, as well as:

 

  • Ensuring all tool control procedures are adhered to and the overall safety of equipment and area under their control. 
  • Checking all equipment required for tasking is available and report all deficiencies in appropriate and timely manner to the correct person/section.
  • Ensuring all possible measures are taken to prevent foreign object debris (FOD) within aircraft and associated equipment.


This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Valley.

 

Essential experience of the Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician:

  • Previous experience and qualified to repair vehicles to DVSA Standards for Operators License Control and/or MOD equivalent level set out within MOD Publications.
  • Previous Experience working on Fuel Tankers, Maintenance, and repair.


Qualifications for the Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician:

  • Full Driving licence (HGV desirable)


Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS Clearance.
