Lead Data Analytics Engineer

About the role

Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a Lead Data Analytics Engineer to work across the Submarine enterprise to utilise data to assist in Optimisation on Engineering and Maintenance Requirements. With data at the fore-front of decision making we need to utilise this further to improve evidence based decision making.


Your main responsibilities will include:
•Utilisation of data to provide evidence based decision making
•Provide insights into the current data and be able to illicit how to improve decisions with new metadata and innovative techniques.
•Customer and enterprise engagement on best practice
•Some travel to other sites across Bristol and occasional travel to sites further afield

What do I need to do the role?

•You will have an analytical mind, coming from a digital analytics, insight or Business Intelligence (BI) background
•Some commercial experience of programming for data and analytics using Python
•Ability to extract and interpret relevant data from Structured and Unstructured datasets
•Experience of manipulating and managing data structures, primarily using the PANDAS and NumPY libraries
•Knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques using scikit-learn and TensorFlow
•Ideally from a Mathematical or Software background


What else do I need to know about the role?

This is a full time position with some travel involved so flexibility will be required.

All applicants must have or be able to obtain SC security clearance.
