About the Role
As a Senior Network Solution Architect, you will play a key role in supporting the sustainment and evolution of the Defence High Frequency Communication System (DHFCS) and the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System (EDHFCS).
Working within a highly technical and mission-critical environment, you will define requirements, develop network architecture designs, and support the integration, implementation and ongoing sustainment of complex Defence communication networks across geographically diverse locations.
You will collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Cyber Security specialists, vendors and Defence stakeholders to deliver robust, secure and supportable network solutions across multiple security domains.
This role will see you contribute to technical documentation, security accreditation activities, deployment procedures and network budget calculations, while ensuring all solutions align with Defence standards, contractual obligations and WHS requirements.
About You
With extensive experience in network architecture and infrastructure design, you bring a strong understanding of complex enterprise or Defence communication networks and the challenges of operating within secure, mission-critical environments.
Exposure to multi-domain networks, systems integration and Defence security frameworks such as the ISM will be highly regarded, along with the ability to interpret vendor best practices and translate them into practical, supportable solutions.
Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and engage confidently with customers, vendors and technical stakeholders.
A proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes will see you thrive while contributing to innovation, continuous improvement and the ongoing sustainment of a critical Defence capability.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- A good understanding of Defence system engineering lifecycles and procedures.
- Extensive experience working within a Defence or Commercial environment.
- Demonstrated experience in design and the deployment of Cyber and Cisco security toolsets.
- General understanding of the Systems Engineering process.
- Previous success in Defence ICT projects including dealing with CoA stakeholders.
- Experience working within Defence Technical Regulatory Frameworks.
