About the Role

As an Integration Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of the JP9101 Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS), supporting one of Australia’s most significant Defence communications programs.

 

You’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing system-level integration and test activities across laboratory environments, Commonwealth test facilities and operational sites, ensuring the solution performs as designed and meets customer and contractual requirements.

Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you’ll develop test documentation, conduct integration activities, analyse system performance and provide objective quality evidence to support acceptance testing.

 

You’ll apply sound engineering principles to troubleshoot complex technical issues, contribute to technical reviews and documentation, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the engineering lifecycle while ensuring compliance with Defence, safety and engineering standards.

About You

A motivated engineer with experience in systems integration, testing or systems engineering, you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and seeing sophisticated systems come together.

 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to produce high-quality engineering documentation, investigate technical issues and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable outcomes.

Success in this role comes from a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement, combined with a solid understanding of engineering processes, technical risk management and system interfaces.

 

Experience working within a Defence, communications, software or other complex engineering environment will be highly regarded, along with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

 

To be successful in this position you will bring:

 

  • Relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
  • Understanding of the role of Integration, Test, Verification and Validation in the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Understanding of techniques and technologies that may interface with electronic equipment.
  • An understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation, and analysis software)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a small team to achieve desired results.
