About the Role

Babcock Australasia is seeking a motivated Finance Manager to play a pivotal role in one of our most significant Defence programs — the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS) program. This sovereign Australian capability delivers secure, long‑range tactical and voice communications, underpinning Defence resilience and national security.

This is a full‑time permanent position offers the opportunity to step into a high‑impact role where your expertise will directly support both operational delivery and future growth. As Finance Manager, you’ll act as a trusted partner to Program Managers, senior leaders, and Defence customers, providing financial insight, analysis, and guidance that drives strategic and commercial outcomes.

You’ll oversee budgets, forecasts, reporting, and compliance, ensuring strong financial controls are in place while identifying opportunities to improve processes and performance. Beyond supporting existing contracts, you’ll also play a key role in shaping new business opportunities, helping to implement financial structures for upcoming projects and ensuring Babcock is well positioned for success.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Australian Citizenship with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification in CA/CPA.
  • Extensive experience as a finance manager or a role similar in skill and responsibility in a large corporate environment preferably within the Defence Industry.
  • Extensive experience in financial business partnering, including leadership of teams and strategic financial planning across complex environments.
