About the role
As the Acquisition Program Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team delivering key engineering outcomes for the JP9101 Acquisition Project. This includes the design, assembly, integration, and verification of the Mission and Support Systems, ensuring technical quality and compliance throughout.
Working closely with the JP9101 PEM, you’ll drive collaboration across Support and Legacy contracts to deliver DHFCS+ and EDHFCS capability. You’ll oversee engineering processes, tools, and resources in line with Babcock policy, while managing project scope, costs, and timelines as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
Your leadership will be critical in guiding technical investigations, supporting customer engagements, and ensuring through-life knowledge capture.
About you
You’re a confident and experienced engineering leader with a strong track record of managing complex technical programs. Your ability to apply sound technical judgement, plan and monitor delivery, and guide multidisciplinary teams sets you apart.
You’re comfortable managing CAM responsibilities and have a keen eye for detail when reviewing and approving technical documentation. You thrive in collaborative environments, facilitating customer workshops, leading formal reviews, and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
With a commitment to excellence, you champion rigorous engineering standards and effective knowledge management throughout the lifecycle of the program.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- A wealth of experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- Extensive experience in Systems Engineering.
- Proven experience in managing applicable engineering function and/or technical delivery.
- An excellent understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
- Understanding of Earned Value Management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
