We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Group Import Export to join our business, focusing on driving transformational change across our Supply Chain operations including Integrated Business planning, Material Planning and Warehouse Operations.  In this hybrid working role you’ll be responsible for monitoring, optimising, designing, Babcock Group Import and Export activities to remove risk, reduce costs, increase flexibility, and support future business growth.

What will you be doing?
In line with the Group Procurement and Supply Chain Strategy, this role will be a key constituent of the Group Supply Chain Centre of Excellence COE.


What the role involves:
•    Manages the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, including customs documentation and transportation
•    May negotiate with clients or handle issues with customs officials
•    Maintain thorough knowledge of internal systems & services, as well as legislation & maritime regulations
•    Regularly review all import and export activities whether Babcock or Supplier managed to seek efficiencies, cost benefits and risk minimisation
•    Conduct/lead business process analysis to understand the needs of Babcock and enterprise ultimately translating those needs into clear recommendations and solutions for stakeholders
•    Develop and execute visible metrics in order to identify and drive performance improvement and monitor progress


The experience you’ll bring     
•    Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
•    A wealth of experience in related field (warehouse operations, supply chain, distribution, logistics, inventory, demand planning, supply planning, transportation, manufacturing, sourcing, operational excellence, etc.)
•    Prior experiences leading and managing within a highly regulated environment and operating within a large and geographically dispersed/matrix organisation with many levels
•    Prior experience in operational import and export and management of such
•    Experience working within the Defence Industry is a plus
•    Must hold or have ability to obtain SC security clearance
