About the role


Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Safety Health Environmental Quality and Security (SHEQS) Advisor to join the team at Heathrow Airport. Babcock is a leading provider of airport solutions delivering the management of operation critical fleets and ground support equipment, the design and operation of baggage systems, and airport IT systems.


As the SHEQS Advisor, you will support the SHEQS function to operational delivery. This role drives the SHEQS agenda from the Business Partner and takes responsibility for driving SHEQS improvement within a defined area. You will collaborate with the SHEQS Business Partner to set standards and bringing consistency for Information Assurance (Security), Quality, Wellbeing as well as relevant Health, Safety and Environmental matters. You will develop, rationalise and integrate processes and procedures to reflect the business and ISO requirements. Also, you will ensure the products and services provided are fit for purpose and meet relevant internal and external standards (legal compliance and customer expectations).


A crucial responsibility is to develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally providing regular SHEQS briefings and understanding operational challenges and risks that impact SHEQS risk management strategy.  Provide direction, guidance, coaching to foster a collaborative working ethos across the business. The role is pivotal in maintaining and improving the safety and resilience of the day-to-day operations, and to ensure everyone is “Home Safe Everyday”. The role provides effective SHEQS resource across all of the Business operation.

What do I need to do the role?


You will hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent. In addition, it is desirable you have previous work experience in implementing, maintaining and auditing:  ISO 9001, BSI ISO 14001 and BSI OHSAS 18001, IAMM Level 3 standards or equivalent.


You will have experience working in an engineering or highly regulated environment with previous experience of driving continuous improvements.


What else do I need to know?


You will work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday and Babcock offer flexible working. Lastly, you must be able to gain an Airside Pass for this role.
