Babcock is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our team and help shape safe, reliable and innovative solutions across the engineering lifecycle. If you’re driven by technical excellence, curious by nature and ready to own and deliver meaningful outcomes, this role is for you.
About the Role
As a System Safety Engineer, you will apply established engineering principles to develop designs, analyses and technical solutions that support Babcock’s products and services. You’ll work independently with support when needed, contribute to safety assessments, and help strengthen our engineering capability.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Conduct technical investigations to support problem resolution and design improvements.

Deliver engineering tasks to time, cost and quality requirements.
-
Produce technical documentation aligned with engineering governance and DoA.

Perform single‑domain safety and risk assessments.
-
Provide engineering advice to internal stakeholders.
-
Support design, analysis and manufacturing integration.

Contribute to process and lifecycle improvements across the organisation.
To be successful you will bring:
-
2 years’ experience in a relevant engineering or technical role.

Strong understanding of engineering toolsets (e.g., PLM, MRP, design or analysis software).

Accredited engineering degree (Washington Accord) or equivalent pathway to Professional Engineer membership.
-
Eligibility for membership with a recognised engineering body and commitment to CPD.

Current driver’s licence and White Card.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a defence clearance.
