About the Role
Babcock is continuing to expand across the region, and we’re seeking a Senior Security Advisor to support our operations in Western Australia. Reporting to the Security Manager, this role plays a pivotal part in strengthening our security environment and ensuring our Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) obligations are met. It’s a position with real influence, shaping how security is delivered across the organisation while supporting the Security Manager in embedding best‑practice security.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of executing DISP membership requirements, guiding the development of policies, procedures and security instructions for Western Australia, and helping uplift capability across the team. You’ll also play a hands‑on part in mentoring junior team members and delivering the education components of Babcock’s Security Program.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be involved in operational security activity, including responding to incidents, reviewing reports, maintaining registers and engaging with stakeholders to resolve issues. You will execute local security compliance activities, conduct risk assessments and support enterprise‑level security planning.
Of key importance is supporting Babcock to maintain DISP membership requirements by overseeing security records, registers, accreditations and supporting DISP uplift activities. The position also plays a key role in supporting day-to-day facility security, delivering assurance activities and working closely with facilities teams to maintain compliance.

To be successful, you will bring
- Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance.
- Qualifications in security, risk management or demonstrated practical experience in these areas.
- Has completed, or is able to complete, the DISP Security Officer training course.
- Demonstrated working experience with AGSVA and Defence Security.
- Experience in issuing security advice and managing day-to-day security activities in alignment with DISP.
- Understanding of application of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the ASIO Technical Notes.
