About the role

 

The Project Controls Lead is a mid‑level leadership role within the Project Controls discipline of the Project Management job family. This position oversees a significant area of project controls activity and is accountable for performance outcomes delivered through multiple managers, senior professional staff, and senior technical specialists.

 

With a balanced focus on short‑term delivery and medium‑term planning, the role anticipates challenges, adapts priorities, and ensures alignment across project controls functions. The Project Controls Manager provides direction, drives consistency, and supports the successful execution of project objectives through effective oversight of project controls frameworks, governance, and performance management.

 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish, maintain, and ensure adherence to project‑specific Project Controls governance, processes, and procedures across the lifecycle of the project.
  • Define and manage the project baseline for scope, cost, and schedule, and oversee the ongoing governance and control of these baseline elements.
  • Lead and mentor scheduling staff to develop, manage, update, and analyse fully integrated project schedules covering all phases of project execution.
  • Manage project controls personnel responsible for cost management, change management, risk and opportunity management, and document control functions.
  • Deliver regular internal and external management reporting, providing accurate, relevant, and reliable insights into project status, performance, and forecast outcomes.

About you

You will bring your tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or Construction Management with your Professional Certification in Project Management and experience in managing project controls and the full project lifecycle.

 

To be successful you will have:

  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
  • Current AU Drivers Licence
  • Construction White Card

 

This role is based at Henderson, WA.
