Production Manager

About the role

 

In this role, you will oversee the safe execution of maintenance activities through effective planning, coordination, and control of personnel and resources. You will ensure maintenance outcomes are delivered on schedule, meet customer and contractual requirements, and maximise operational efficiency during RAN maintenance periods.

 

You will provide quality oversight of production activities, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and established work practices. You will also champion a strong safety culture and promote the health and wellbeing of all personnel supporting Babcock operations.

 

Reporting to the Project Manager, RMP West, this is a full-time permanent position based across Garden Island and Henderson, Western Australia.

 

Other duties may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Preparing and presenting weekly progress reports and project dashboards.
  • Developing and maintaining the integrated master schedule and project risk register to support delivery of maintenance objectives.
  • Preparing requisitions and evaluating subcontractor submissions to ensure maintenance requirements are met.
  • Participating in site meetings with the project team to review project progress, HSE compliance, and key project issues.
  • Attending progress, safety, and contractor meetings, providing guidance and support as required.

About you

 

You are an experienced production or maintenance management professional with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities. You have a proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing technical teams, ideally within a large-scale marine engineering, shipbuilding, or construction environment.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
  • A Degree or Diploma in Engineering, or a trade qualification with equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering outcomes to high technical, quality, and compliance standards.
  • A current Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Experience in contract administration and subcontractor management.
  • Broad knowledge and experience within the Defence industry (preferred).
