The role

As a Multi-Skilled Estates Operative, you'll provide essential support across our Estates teams, helping to deliver planned preventative maintenance activities and ensuring the continued performance, safety and availability of critical facilities and infrastructure. You'll work alongside skilled engineering and estates professionals, gaining exposure to a varied and dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical estates or facilities experience who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in delivering high standards, and wants to contribute to projects that make a meaningful difference.

 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Supporting Estates teams in the delivery of planned preventative maintenance activities across site
  • Assisting engineering teams with identifying and rectifying system faults, defects, alterations and maintenance requirements
  • Carrying out estates support activities including equipment operation and site services work
  • Working safely and compliantly in line with Health & Safety legislation, Safe Systems of Work and Control of Work processes
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, processes and working practices.

 

 

This role is based on site at HM Naval Base Clyde and is contracted to 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday.

 

 

Essential experience of the Multi-Skilled Estates Operative:

  • Experience of estates activities and associated equipment, including scaffolding, forklift truck operations or slinging activities
  • Knowledge of manual handling processes and safe working practices
  • Experience of completing or working to Risk Assessments
  • Understanding of COSHH requirements and procedures
  • Experience of working within Safe Systems of Work in a regulated or industrial environment.

 

 

Qualifications for the Multi-Skilled Estates Operative:

  • Hot Work Operative/Sentry certification
  • Working at Height certification
  • Pristine Manual Handling training
  • Asbestos Awareness certification
  • Load/Unload Restraint – Truck Vehicle certification
  • Legionella Appreciation training.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
