Welder/ Machinist

About the role


Here at Babcock International we are currently recruiting for a Welder/ Machinist to operate fixed machine tools safely i.e. CNC milling machines, Lathe, Drills, Grinding machines and engravers.


Further responsibilities will include;  

  • Assess and cost metal work tasks
  • Assist the customers in the design of their requirements
  • Complete documentation for tasks in accordance with current MOD Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain the expense book for receipt and usage of metals.
  • Responsible for reporting all accidents, injuries, nears-miss and dangerous occurrences promptly to Line Management.


What do I need to do the role?


You must be an experienced Welder with experience in working within an engineering department or relevant experience, an understanding and knowledge of engineering drawings, and of SHEF practices and procedures.


You will also have good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. As well as demonstrating IT literacy, you will be able to work on your own initiative unsupervised, and possess a good understanding of workshop procedures.
