The role
As a Senior Buyer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As the focal point for the Programme and Project leads you will be responsible for several different procurement projects, driving performance and value opportunities across them.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following key responsibilities:

• Identify value opportunities and levers, as well as:
• Supply Chain Design for packages of work
• Supplier Relationship Management
• Operational Excellence and reporting
• Cross functional communication within the programme

This role is full time and is a hybrid role with 1 day per week onsite at Ashchurch, or longer periods as required as the role demands, and you could be sent to other sites if needed.

Essential experience of the Senior Buyer:

• Analytical skills to analyse data and make decisions.
• Be able to read and understand technical drawings and ability to communicate complex requirements to/from supply chain is an advantage.
• Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and suppliers.
• Self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload
• Strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications for the Senior Buyer:

• MCIPS desirable but not essential
• Experience within a Supply Chain role, preferably in a Defence or Engineering environment

• The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
