The role

As a PAT Tester, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll conduct PAT Testing primarily on-site, with opportunities for travel within the UK and overseas. You'll become an integral part of a dynamic team, upholding Babcock's high standards for electrical safety testing, bringing continuous professionalism to the service provided to customers. This post requires regular access to the most sensitive intelligence material.

 

Day to day, you’ll:

 

  • Apply your understanding of electrical safety regulations to conduct thorough PAT testing.
  • Utilise your knowledge and expertise to test various equipment, primarily but not limited to, desktop equipment and some fixed installations.
  • Accurately record test data using industry-standard equipment and ensure proper labeling of tested appliances.
  • Identify and potentially rectify minor faults during testing, ensuring equipment safety.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while representing the company at client sites


In this full-time role, you’ll be based at our Cheltenham site. There will be occasional travel to other locations within the UK and overseas and at times, you may be required to work outside of our core working hours (0800-1600, Monday - Friday).

 

Essential experience of the PAT Tester

  • Demonstrable understanding of electrical installations
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety hazards.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs at the point of testing.
  • Valid UK driving license.

 

Qualifications for the PAT Tester

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who holds, or is able to achieve DV security clearance for this role.
