The role
As a Programme Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead and manage the planning, and delivery of Frameworks, projects and contracts to ensure that all contracts and service agreements are delivered in compliance with all contractual, SQE and legal requirements. To ensure that clients are satisfied with all aspects of delivery quality and to continuously improve delivery to maintain a competitive edge.

Day-to-day, you will participate as a senior member of the Rail Systems team in formulating delivery strategies, plans and budgets and in monitoring performance to ensure that the delivery targets and margins are fully achieved.

  • Lead a team of senior project managers, project manager and assistant project managers to plan, develop and implement works to meet or better tendered margins. Ensure that changes to scope and specifications are managed and that risk registers are robustly reviewed.
  • Manage the organisation to ensure that all contract/service activities are carried out in accordance with all Health and Safety and other relevant legislation and company procedures.
  • Direct the management team in the compliance with procedures and delegated authorities in the delivery of contracts/service agreements and regularly review performance.  
  • Critically review P6 project plans to ensure effective delivery plans. These plans should fully resourced, costed and updated to reflect agreed specifications.
  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships at framework level, monitor client satisfaction levels, respond urgently to client concerns and ensure improvement plans are developed, implemented and shared with clients.
  • Engage in business development activities with existing and new customers
  • Take responsibility for all programme level reporting, including but not limited to commercial, financial, SHEQ and delivery status

 

This role is full time 35 hours per week and <please select one of the following is based at Hamilton, Scotland. 

 

Essential experience of the Programme Manager 

  • Strong experience at a senior level.
  • Knowledge of processes, operational and associated safety matters.
  • Ability to contribute to divisional decision making.
  •  Experience of process control and improvement.
  • Effective operator who delivers a robust business planning and reporting process

 

Qualifications for the Programme Manager 

  • Engineering Degree
  • Member of a relevant professional body, such as the Association for Project Management, with chartered status and/or educated to degree level
     

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
