Mechanical Calibrator

About the role

 

We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Calibrator to conduct calibration activities on Mechanical Instrumentation including Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment.

 

You will be responsible for carrying out calibration, adjustments, diagnoses and repairs (where qualified) across a wide range of measurement parameters and in accordance with approved procedures. Additional responsibilities will include performing Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) duties and instructing and mentoring employees who are undertaking Apprenticeships within the business.

 

What do I need to do the role?

 

You will be qualified in a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

 

You will have previous working experience in mechanical calibration, including calibrating Test & measuring equipment.

 

You will also have a clear understanding of the principles which underpin the process of calibrating equipment and a sound knowledge of calibration processes whilst demonstrating a diligent approach when following procedures.

 

Wider experience of Metrology or experience of using dedicated Calibration software would be desirable.

 

What else do I need to know?

 

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
