The Environmental Practitioner is based within our naval nuclear business area.
As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.
The role
As an environmental practitioner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a big part in ensuring construction has a minimal impact on the surrounding environment.
Day to day, you’ll provide sound environmental advice to the construction and engineering teams and ensure the 14001 management system is adhered to. You’ll raise and escalate issues and strive to improve practices.

Experience Required
• Environmental background and understanding
• Knowledge of 14001 management system
• Knowledge of environmental legislation
• Audit experience
• Must have or be able to obtain the necessary level of security clearance
