Business Support Accountant

About the role

 

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Business Support Accountant to provide accurate, timely and concise financial information, analysis and support to all areas of the Business, from Management Board to Team Leader, enabling management to make informed financial and operational decisions, both short and long term.

 

Babcock operates a significant outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The contract is entering an exciting new phase with renewed focus on training innovation, optimisation and collaborative working and this role will provide the support and drive to achieve successful deliver of all aspects of the contract in this new phase.

 

What do I need to do the role?

 

You will have the ability to communicate Cost Accounting financial information to non-financial personnel (from team members through to Board-level) and possess a thorough understanding of extracting and manipulating complex financial data for reporting purposes.

 

You are also a part qualified accountant with a current understanding of financial standards and accounting techniques, financial/commercial compliance including internal and external audits and their requirements.


You will demonstrate confidence in an understanding of accounting principles to be able to apply them in new and unstructured situations, as well and explaining and debating financial information with staff at all levels.

 

What else do I need to know?

 

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
