The role
As a Training Standards Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of Astute Class Training Service Training Standards and Quality Control mechanisms. assure delivery of a consistent high quality training output.

 

Day-to-day, you will assure delivery of a consistent high quality training output.

  • Training Quality Control - Conduct Internal Validation processes in order to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of training, measure course success and identify course weaknesses. Verify the validity, integrity and reliability of all assessment banks.
  • Training Delivery Standards - Acting as the Defence Training Supervisor, support the provision of trainer qualification, coaching, mentoring and development to all staff involved in training delivery.
  • Training Design Standards - In liaison with the Training Design Team Lead, conduct routine Quality Control reviews of all training documentation in support of the Astute Class Training Service contract.
  • Quality Assurance - Manage and conduct internal training audits in order to assure compliance with the ACTS Training Quality Management System and all contractual quality requirements BR8420, JSP822, ISO 9001 etc. Track, analyse and manage corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Reporting and Communication - Manage customer and stakeholder meetings in support of the continuous improvement of the training service. Provide Quality Control and Assurance management information as required.  Liaise with Royal Navy colleagues to ensure sharing of best practice and development of shared practice in quality systems.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Faslane.

 

Essential experience of the Training Standards Controller

  • Military background and a knowledge of training that conforms to a systems approach to training 
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of Project Management (PM) and delivery and also business management principles in coordination of people.
  • Proven experience and detailed knowledge of training related quality processes.
  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience of quality systems and their application in a training environment.
  • Military Training Management experience would be desirable 

 

Qualifications for the Training Standards Controller

  • ISO9001 Lead Auditor is desirable 
  • Previous exposure to a BR8420/ JSP 822 Quality System

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
