The role

As a Test and Commissioning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An exciting role which will include conducting of Submarine Commissioning and Testing tasks safely, on time, to specification and within an agreed budget whilst working closely with various key stakeholders.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll assist the Senior Test Engineer in maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of the Test Engineers whilst ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements. Additionally, you will:

 

  • Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Commissioning Group area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
  • Ensure that adequate Suitably Qualified and Experienced resource and equipment is available to conduct Commissioning and test activities in accordance with the Clyde Safety Management Arrangements.
  • Manage and conduct Commissioning and testing work in accordance with the Clyde Safety Management Arrangements.

 

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

Qualifications for the Test and Commissioning Engineer

  • Recognised Electrical/Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship or Equivalent
  • City and Guilds 3667-02 Fibre Optic Cabling in an Internal Environment
  • Combat Systems Commissioning and Testing
  • City and Guilds 2395 Periodic Inspection Testing and Certification of Electrical Installing
  • Vessel TAGOUT Awareness

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
