The role
As a Pipefitting Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead a passionate team of Industrial Trades professionals responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, as well as testing and commissioning activities. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving project success, ensuring that all activities align with our goals. 

 

Day-to-day, you will utilise your technical expertise to collaborate with project stakeholders, planning and scheduling work packages effectively within our Fleet Assets. You will also be:

  • Working closely with the Nuclear Repair Enablement and Fleet Programme Teams to clearly define the work needed for each activity, breaking tasks down and scheduling them to minimize conflicts. 
  • Ensuring all safety, quality and technical documentation is meticulously reviewed and readily available before commencing any tasks. 
  • Engaging and managing subcontractors to execute specific components of work packages in line with established site processes. 
  • Advocating for and implementing the company’s safety, quality, and environmental policies throughout projects, conducting risk assessments to promote a culture of safe working practices. 
  • Collaborating with the on-site Delivery Management team and departmental Training Staff to enhance the development and performance of the Delivery Team. 

 

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Faslane with occasional travel to RNAD Coulport. 

 

Essential experience of the Pipefitting Supervisor

  • Demonstrated experience in Nuclear Engineering, with a solid background in Engineering Supervision. 
  • Proficient in Safe Systems of Work and their practical application. 
  • Strong understanding of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced engineering environment. 
  • Capable of working safely and performing tasks at varying heights.

 

Qualifications for the Pipefitting Supervisor

  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent hands-on experience and knowledge. 
  • ILM Level 3 certification is desirable, but not essential.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
