About the role: 
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Structural or Civil Engineer to join our team at Babcock Clyde. Working within Estates, the NSI (Nuclear Safety Implications) Engineer will support the Estates team in the delivery of all statutory & mandatory inspections of Buildings, Facilities & Infrastructure.

You will carry out inspections of nuclear safety implicated structures and equipment as well as structural appraisals and condition surveys of buildings, key infrastructure, civil engineering elements and marine facilities at HMNB Clyde and RNAD Coulport.

Specific responsibilities will include conducting desktop and visual inspection activities and providing expert technical advice on structural and civil engineering issues. You will also attend concession meetings and present the technical case in support of proposed amendments to agreed activities and timeframes.
Additional responsibilities will include engaging and managing specialist Contractor support for rope access, diving, materials testing and other activities.
It is important that the role holder is comfortable working in confined spaces.
What do I need to do the role? 
The successful candidate will demonstrate previous experience gained in civil engineering roles, ideally within a marine engineering environment. Key areas of competency we require will include:

•    Minimum of HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
•    Experience of the practical application of the principles of Civil Engineering at site level
•    A strong practical knowledge of MS Office software, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
•    Excellent relationship-building and networking skills
You must also hold a valid UK driving licence.

This post is based at HMNB Clyde however will provide support across both sites in Faslane and RNAD Coulport.
