The role

As a HR Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing professional, comprehensive, and flexible HR services across all HR functions. Your expertise will ensure that managers receive high-quality HR advice, guidance, and support. You will work closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Managers, and the wider HR team to implement, integrate, and deliver HR policies and procedures. Your efforts will ensure that employees and people managers are fully aware of their legal obligations and the company's approach to HR matters.

 

Day to day you will excel in following areas:

  • HR Case Management: Handle all HR cases in line with policies, best practices, and legislative requirements. Provide guidance and support to People Managers, including preparation for hearings, appeals, and employment tribunals.
  • Policy Interpretation and Development: Keep employees and management informed about legal obligations and company policies. Assist in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Advice and Guidance: Offer advice on employment, conduct, and performance issues. Support disciplinary and grievance cases, and facilitate coaching and mentoring on HR-related matters.
  • Attendance Management: Support managers in managing attendance cases, including occupational health referrals and workforce wellbeing assessments.
  • HR Projects: Assist HRBPs in delivering HR projects and initiatives that support departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by providing proactive solutions to HR-related issues.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs and briefing sessions for People Managers.
  • Role Profiles: Collaborate with People Managers to develop accurate role profiles in line with the Babcock Role Framework

 

This role is full time 18 months FTC 36 hours per week Monday to Friday and offers hybrid working arrangements (onsite when required)

 

Essential experience of the HR Advisor

  • Comprehensive understanding of company policies, procedures, and current employment law legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, influencing, conflict resolution, industrial relations, business systems, facilitation, and problem-solving.

 

Qualifications for the HR Advisor

  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
