This is a great opportunity to be part of an experienced team and as the subject matter expert provide specialist Electrical System Support and to act as an Electrical Systems AP supporting work undertaken by the Estates Delivery Team at HMNB Clyde.


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an Electrical Systems AP (Low voltage) who will review and update complex electrical documentation and participate in extensive discussions covering many disciplines and specialist subject matters with respect to highlighting, solving and minimising risks relating to electrical systems and equipment and challenging electrical related problems. Undertake analysis of situations, events or processes utilising their skill to identify shortfalls and weaknesses in working practices.  Develop and implement recommendations to address shortfalls and work with the Section’s management in delivering change and continuous improvement.


What will you be doing?


  • Carry out Electrical Authorised Person duties (Low Voltage) on site once qualified.
  • Assist Management team in maximising the utilisation of all the sections resource.
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
  • Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the electrical maintenance area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
  • Identify, analyse, investigate, diagnose, plan and generate solutions to problems for any electrical based issues or projects across the site. 
  • Produce, review and amend planned preventative maintenance documentation as well as review, plan and investigate electrical  EICR reports.


The experience you’ll bring


  • Previous Senior Craft Electrical experience within a marine engineering, estates maintenance or industrial environment, experience of MOD Electrical Safety Rules and documentation would be advantageous.
  • Recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship qualified to SVQ Level 3 (or NVQ and C&G equivalent).
  • A track record of making intelligent evidence based decisions using various sources of data and resolving conflicting operational priorities. Demonstrable experience in reviewing and updating complex electrical documentation and participating in extensive discussions covering many disciplines and specialist subject matters with respect to solving challenging electrical related problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload. Proficient use of MS Office software with well-developed presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Maintenance Procedures, Risk, and COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work with excellent team working and interpersonal skills. 
  • You must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role
