The role
As a Electrical Calibration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will include responsibility for the calibration, diagnosis and repair of Safety and Test and Measuring Equipment (T&ME), nucleonic Radiation Detection & Monitoring Equipment (RDME)

Day-to-day, you’ll use approved quality systems to ensure the requirements of the Trident Strategic Weapon System (SWS), nuclear operations and other non-strategic customers are met.
 

• Comply with health and safety legislation, policies and standards
• Validation of procedures and analysing the effects of new and amended procedures
• Write paper document and software calibration procedures for new equipment and generate calibration checklists for new / different models to meet SWPT and departmental requirement
• Take lead role of a team of calibration officers and participate in measurement audits as part of the US / UK Inter Laboratory Comparison Programme (ILCP) to ensure the Facilities future parameter re-certification.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week Monday – Friday with a half day on the Friday and is based on site at Faslane.

Essential experience of the Electrical Calibration Engineer 

• Working knowledge of electrical instrumentation and calibration procedures
• Use and commissioning of electrical equipment 
• Able to work as part of a fast paced larger team
• IT / Database literate

Qualifications for the Electrical Calibration Engineer

• HNC / Completed Apprenticeship in an Electrical Discipline

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain  Standard Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
