The role

As an Electrical Calibration Engineering within our National Calibration Facility, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As the Ministry of Defence’s commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities.

 

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the calibration, diagnosis and repair of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).

•    Calibration, adjustment and repair of various types of TMDE
•    Production of calibration checklists for new models of TMDE and assist in the assessment of new calibration procedures
•    Achieve successful, timely completion of work packages in line with our safety and quality standards

 

Essential experience of the Electrical Calibration Engineer

•    Proven experience in Electrical or Instrument calibration, or minimum possess knowledge of calibration techniques
•    IT Literate to be able to use MS Office confidently
•    Works in a safe manner – able to understand statements of work, risk assessments etc

 

This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday dayshifts - 37 hours per week, with early finish on a Friday. Based at HMNB Clyde near Helensburgh.

 

Qualifications for the Electrical Calibration Engineer

•    HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronics subject, or recognised electrical apprenticeship to SVQ3 or equivalent with proven post qualifying experience in a similar role

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC level security clearance level for this role.
