The role
As a Compliance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will include facilitating the continued safe & compliant state of various plant within HMNB Clyde by conduction examinations, diagnosing, predicting, and preventing failures for all Regulatory Systems through the provision of Written Schemes of Examination and Condition Based Monitoring of Legionella Management, Pressure Systems & Local Exhaust Ventilation systems.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll Assist the Co-ordinating Authorising Engineer in maximising the utilisation of all the section’s resource and attend meetings as required to provide specialist Engineering advice on all Pressure Systems, building water systems and Local Exhaust Ventilation systems.   

  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements. 
  • Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Quality area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices. 
  • Carry out regulatory examinations of various pressure systems in accordance with written schemes and produce reports specifying repair criteria and timescales for non-conformities identified throughout the course of examination. 
  • Prepare, produce & review written schemes of examination and schematic drawings for minor & intermediate pressure systems across the site in accordance with PSSR Regs 2000.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2/3 days in the office/onsite and 2/3 days working from home. The role is based at HMNB Clyde, Faslane, near Helensburgh. 

 

Essential experience of the Compliance Engineer

  • Experience with General Mechanical Systems.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Systems and equipment and associated legislation.
  • Legionella knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience working in a Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Knowledge of Planning processes.

 

Qualifications for the Compliance Engineer

  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
