The role

As a Commercial Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to support the UK’s defence capability. You’ll provide day-to-day commercial management across key contracts with the Ministry of Defence, including the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP). This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to grow your commercial expertise while contributing to national security.

 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Commercial Manager with contract management and commercial tasks.
  • Assisting with internal reporting to meet key deadlines.
  • Advising project teams on contract-related issues.
  • Building strong client relationships focused on performance, pricing, and service delivery.
  • Managing contract changes, including drafting, negotiating, and agreeing changes with the client.

 

 

You'll work 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, based at our Clyde site. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be expected.

 

 

Essential experience of the Commercial Advisor

  • Understanding of contractual provisions and their implications.
  • Awareness of contractual pricing mechanisms.
  • Experience of change control within a contract.
  • Experience working with Ministry of Defence contracts.

 

 

Qualifications for the Commercial Advisor:

While no specific qualifications are listed, a background in commercial, legal, or contract management roles will be advantageous.

 

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
