The Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will provide engineering expertise and oversee modifications and alterations to a fleet of submarines. 

Day-to-day, you will be planning and managing submarine alteration and modification projects from changing of furniture to full combat system upgrades. 

• Identify pre installation requirements, materials and stores
• Provide professional engineering support to resolve installation and resource issues
• Engage fleet engineering by arranging and conducting start up meetings 
• Record progress against planned timelines and brief all parties at progress meetings 
• Operating with a continuous improvement focus 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at HMNB Clyde

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Experience required of the Assistant Project Manager

• Experience in mechanical / marine engineering 
• Knowledge of planning processes 
• Knowledge of ship systems maintenance and installation procedures 

Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager 

• HNC or equivalent in relevant engineering subject 
• Nuclear introductory course preferred

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
