The role
As a Marine/Naval Watchkeeping Training Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Providing specialist engineering and nuclear expertise to the training design process. You’ll have the opportunity to support the development of the recently established Babcock Skills business, which provides a wide range of engineering training courses.
Day to day, you’ll be working with our Astute-class Training Service team at Babcock Marine Training Limited (BMTL), to help train the current and next generation of Submarine Service engineering professionals.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact of change on existing Marine Engineering and Nuclear Steam Raising Plant courseware. Liaison with the training design team to implement required change to Marine Engineering and Nuclear Steam Raising Plant courseware
- Provide other instruction in for example, Confined Space and Working at Height training to students external to the Astute Class Training Service (ACTS) contract. Training is to be delivered to prescribed standards, quality and cost.
- Deliver classroom and simulator-based training to Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operators and Marine Engineering Equipment Maintainers
- Liaise with the training design team and provide SME support for the routine review and amendment of Marine Engineering and Nuclear Steam Raising Plant courseware
Essential experience of the Marine/Naval Watchkeeping Training Instructor,
- Comprehensive knowledge and recent experience of operating Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant
- Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively
- Engaging and effective communicator
This role is full time based on site at Faslane, Helensburgh.
Qualifications for the Marine/Naval Watchkeeping Training Instructor,
- Qualification as a Category A or B Watchkeeper in the Royal Navy Submarine Service
The successful candidate must be able to achieve Enter level required security clearance level for this role.
