About the role

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Weapons Engineer Instructor based at our site in HMS Collingwood, Fareham. You will join a team that has vast experience in Training Delivery and provide professionally competent specialist services to the Royal Navy.

 

Babcock operates a significant outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The training services comprise Naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Babcock instructors as well as training support (e.g. training planning, equipment support, routine maintenance and training design). The contract is entering an exciting new phase with renewed focus on training innovation, optimisation and collaborative working and this role will provide the leadership, management and drive to achieve successful delivery of all aspects of the contract in this new phase.

 

Reporting to the WE Phase 3 Training Delivery Manager, the Training Delivery Instructor has responsibility for core instructional duties that comprise management, support and execution of the delivery of courses to facilitate learning and development for up to 16 students in both systems electrical and electronic principles and equipment. Currently, all legacy training is delivered through a blend of classroom theory and hands-on application.  Imminent development and change to the way students learn, known as Project Faraday initiative, aims to introduce more Activity Based Learning (ABL) supported by Computer Based Training (CBT) and Computer Aided Instruction (CAI).

What do I need to do the role?

•Professional level qualification (at least an HNC) within the engineering sector
•Consolidated theoretical knowledge and understanding (within last 5 years) of RN Weapon Engineering equipment / systems.
•Experience (within last 3 years) of CBT/CAI principles, concepts and usage
•Ability to create long standing relationships.
•Strong problem solving skills.
•Creative mind-set with a can do attitude.
