About the role

 

Here at Babcock International, we operate a significant outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The training services comprise of naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Babcock Trainers as well as training support. The contract is entering an exciting new phase with renewed focus on training innovation, optimisation and collaborative working and this role will provide the support and drive to achieve successful deliver of all aspects of the contract in this new phase.

 

We are recruiting a Course Manager to manage both students and career courses for Royal Navy ratings and assist with all other students as authorised, using both TAFMIS & JPA iaw the Statement of Training Requirement (SOTR) and FOAP(T) Quality Management System and to undertake other training management functions as directed.

 

You will deliver high-quality career course management, course facilitation and co-ordination in line with Company standards and contractual requirements. FOAP (T) operates within an era of severe budgetary pressure for the MoD; as such all employees are required to: continually improve the way they contribute to the business, ensure that they are best equipped to support future change and ensure that they work in an effective collaborative manner with MoD staff.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • To coordinate all student documentation and monitor individual student progression whilst under training.
  • To provide Management, Administrative and Mentoring support to all students.
  • To liaise with Babcock Team Managers, Instructors, Training Records & Training Planning staffs on results and reports.
  • To liaise with RN Managers and Divisional staff as appropriate on issues to do with training and/or students.
  • To ensure that JPA and TAFMIS are updated to show when ratings complete courses.

What do I need to do the job?

 

  • Consolidated experience in providing training facilitative support, ideally in a military or educational training environment.
  • Experience in the use of Dii, MOSS, TAFMIS and equivalent database systems.
  • Experience of training administration activities.
  • ECDL and/or consolidated experience of using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word (or equivalent software packages) and to manipulate data accordingly.

 

What else do I need to know?

 

You will work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday and must be able to achieve the appropriate level of Security Clearance.
