Training Delivery Game Controller

£18,500 – £20,000 pro rata dependent on experience


About the role?


Babcock are the UK's leading naval support business and operate an outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The training services comprise naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Babcock instructors as well as training support (e.g. training planning, equipment support, routine maintenance and training design). 


Here at Babcock we are looking for a Training Delivery Game Controller to join the team at HMS Collingwood in Fareham, where you will be trained to deliver high quality simulator training to Mine Warfare Students, in accordance with formalised training documentation and in line with company standards and contractual requirements.

We are looking for an individual that is at the start of their career or those looking for a career change and eager to join a leading global engineering organisation. We are not looking for any specific previous experience but once you join the team you will be mentored closely by your Line Manager and will quickly develop the skills you need to be competent in the role.


In addition to the supportive training environment, you must be willing to gain a Level 4 Training Qualification once in post, however, this will all be funded by Babcock. Main Tasks

  • Deliver high-quality simulator control in the Hunt & Sandown trainers to Mine Warfare Student courses in accordance with the relevant training requirement.
  • Provide input into the training design activities including LSPEC/ASPEC and low-level media production.
  • Support training planning in meeting the contracted training schedule and programme.
  • Liaise with internal and external authorities as required to achieve the training aim.
  • Ensure company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented for all employees and trainees under your direction.
  • Undertake wider contract delivery and support tasks as deemed appropriate by your Line Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with MoD regulations and procedures.


What do I need to do the job?


You will not need any specific experience; however, a demonstrable proficiency in using IT would be preferred. Most important is your motivation and enthusiasm to learn and develop your skills.

What else do I need to know?


You will work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday and must be able to achieve the appropriate level of Security Clearance. This is a term time role so you would work on pro-rata basis.
