Babcock New Zealand is looking to add Marine or Industrial Electricians to our highly skilled team based on the Devonport Naval Base.

Role Benefits
- $42.50 per hour
- 1.5x paid after 40hrs
- 2x paid after 43hrs

Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Repair: Perform installation and repair activities on various electrical equipment, including marine and industrial systems like communication equipment, power distribution, propulsion systems, and engine control.
- Fault Identification: Identify and rectify low-level faults in electrical systems, ensuring their proper functioning.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that all installation, maintenance, and repair tasks are completed according to schedule, customer specifications, and requirements. Also, maintain accurate records and prepare technical reports.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead improvement opportunities within the electrical team, including mentoring junior members and promoting change management competencies.
- Safety and Environmental Awareness: Promote occupational health, safety, and environmental awareness, adhering to safety procedures, hazard identification, and compliance with quality assurance objectives.
Key Required Skills
- Electrical Expertise: Hold an Electrical Trade Certificate and Electrical Practicing License with full registration, demonstrating proficiency in using electrical test equipment.
- Problem-Solving: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, especially in a broad spectrum of electrical disciplines, from generating plant to distribution systems and end-user systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Have knowledge and experience in marine engineering, as well as competence in fiber optic installation (desirable).
- Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve unit outputs and encouraging the development of change management competencies.
- Documentation: Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical installation drawings and OEM documentation, along with maintaining accurate records.
