Training Designer (12 Months FTC)

About the role
Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Training Designer to join the team working for The Babcock London Fire Brigade (LFB) Training Partnership, providing training and development programmes for all levels of the Service. As a training Designer you'll undertake the design and development of high quality, interactive training interventions through face to face, theory, practical learning and E-learning.

Using your experience of working in a complex and diverse training environment, you'll work closely with Subject Matter Experts to develop and produce high quality and effective training solutions in order to enhance the learning experience for all learning styles - designing, developing and updating existing course content and learning solutions, and creating performance and assessment tools. You'll also produce accurate storyboards and communicate relevant information to stakeholders and our shared services CBT team, as well as managing and maintaining records and files and preparing management reports.
What do I need to do the role?
You’ll need a formal Instructional Design qualification or extensive relevant industry experience.


We would also like you to have the following:


  • Strong knowledge of course development methods  - e.g. ADDIE, Blooms Taxonomy and objective writing
  • Proven experience of producing effective training materials, (e.g. CBT, trainer guides & lesson plans)
  • Knowledge of e-learning development and authoring tools
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving performance targets


Lastly, you'll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate succinctly with a wide range of people.
What else do I need to know?


• This is a full-time, fixed-term, 12 month contract to be based at Beckton Training Centre in East London.
• Qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
• The successful candidate will hold or be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
