You are an accomplished supply chain leader with extensive experience in defence or complex project environments. You combine strategic vision with operational discipline, ensuring that planning, procurement, and inventory management are seamlessly integrated to support program and project execution. You are confident in setting direction, managing performance, and building capability across multiple teams and senior professionals, and you thrive in environments where resilience, compliance, and innovation are critical. Your success is demonstrated through the delivery of high-quality planning outcomes, supplier evaluation and onboarding, and the implementation of scalable processes that meet both immediate operational needs and medium-term strategic objectives. You anticipate challenges, adapt plans to shifting priorities, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and business goals. With strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to national defence capability and to strengthen the AUKUS supply chain objectives.

 

About the Role

As Supply Chain Manager at H&B Defence, you will lead the delivery of supply chain planning and operational support across the organisation, ensuring integrated planning, inventory, and procurement activities that enable effective program and project execution. You will be accountable for the performance and results of the area, driving commercially sound and compliant planning activities while embedding continuous improvement. This role requires you to refine supplier qualification strategies, lead sourcing and onboarding efforts, and establish frameworks that ensure supplier compliance and performance. You will oversee the development of scalable supply chain processes, including material requirements planning, inventory optimisation, and supplier engagement strategies, ensuring continuity of supply and cost efficiency. Collaboration is central to the role, as you will work closely with commercial, operations, procurement, and quality leaders to align planning with project delivery and organisational priorities. You will also play a pivotal role in building internal capability, mentoring senior staff, and leading workforce planning across multiple teams. Success in this position will be measured by your ability to deliver robust planning outcomes, maintain a reliable supplier base, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and trade controls, all while fostering a culture of safety, integrity, respect, accountability, and excellence.

 

To be successful in this position you will bring;

  • Extensive knowledge of stakeholder communications

  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines

  • Significant exposure to all facets of the Supply Chain Function
