About the role
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Aircrew Officers to join our Aviation & Critical Services team on a contract basis until September 2027, supporting our operations in Adelaide with the South Australian Ambulance Service (SAAS) and the South Australian Police Force (SAPOL).
As part of this role you will:
- Conduct safe flight operations complying with CASA, contractual and company policies and procedures;
- Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
- Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
- Conduct helicopter EMS, Search and Rescue and SA Police Operations;
- Provide accurate visual observation and information to the Pilot of flight relevant data including clearances, personnel movements and flight safety related issues;
- Maintain continuous and immediate readiness of operational role equipment;
- Employ and install role equipment;
- Operate rescue hoist and associated equipment IAW Babcock Operations Manual;
- Perform duties in the Front Left Seat (FLS) and using Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS);
- Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry;
- Ensure security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment; and
- Other tasks as designated by the Senior Base ACO or Chief Aircrew Officer.
About You
Essential requirements:
- Certificate IV in Airborne Operations (AVI40225) or Certificate IV in Aviation AVI40116 (Aircrewman) or AVI40119 (Aircrew Officer)
- Certificate of Competency in Winching and Rappelling Operations;
- Minimum 500 hours of Rotary Wing Aircrew Officer experience;
- Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate;
- Current Senior First Aid (HLTAID011) and Advanced Resuscitation (HLTAID015);
- Current HUET with EBS;
- Current ASIC (red);
- Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate of Proficiency (AROC);
- NVIS Aircrew endorsement;
- Dangerous Goods Awareness or Dangerous Good Pack and Accept
Desirable requirements:
- B412/H145 experience
- HEMS experience
- NVIS hoisting experience
- Over water and vessel hoisting experience
- Front Left Seat experience
- Single ACO cabin operations experience
- Fast Rope experience
- Aerial Fire Support Operations
You will also be an Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
