The role
As a Senior Risk Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As the Senior Risk Specialist, you will be part of an ongoing transformation across our project management and project control functions. You will be driving world class project delivery

performance and gain development and growth opportunities by working closely and having exposure to a variety of teams across the business. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be supporting the integrated project controls team in all aspects of risk management.  

 

  • Providing support to the Risk Manager to maintain standards and assure compliance to policy and process.
  • Providing support to the Joint Project Team and Project Manager(s) and make recommendations on all aspects of project risk management to improve effectiveness. 
  • Making recommendations to the Joint Project Team regarding the development, maintenance and control of the Risk Register or RAID Register.
  • Providing quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis support to the Joint Project Team through probabilistic Monte Carlo simulations and support to Cost Modellers.
  • Supporting Project Managers at risk interviews and workshops with key stakeholders, including subcontractors to capture and assess risk information.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard 

 

Essential experience of the Senior Risk Specialist

  • Demonstrable risk management knowledge, with the ability to engage and encourage delivery managers and Subject Matter Experts to contribute to the process and to maintain risk data.
  • Fully conversant, or expert user, with risk management software such as Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, Active Risk Management or Risk Hive (but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to manage other team member(s).
  • Good investigative, analytical, communication and writing skills are essential.

 

Qualifications for the Senior Risk Specialist

  • Certified Risk Management training with a professional project or risk management institute such as the APM, PMI or IRM

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
