As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most complex and strategically important infrastructure programmes within our Naval Nuclear business. This is more than a traditional quantity surveying position. You'll provide commercial leadership across major engineering and construction projects that directly support national defence and security.
Working alongside project teams, Ministry of Defence stakeholders and supply chain partners, you'll help drive successful project outcomes through effective commercial management, contract administration and risk mitigation. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Managing commercial activities across infrastructure, engineering and construction projects
- Supporting contract administration, cost control, change management and compensation events
- Collaborating with project managers, suppliers and stakeholders to maximise value and ensure contractual compliance
- Identifying, assessing and mitigating commercial risks while protecting Babcock's commercial position
- Delivering commercial reporting, governance activities and strategic commercial support throughout the project lifecycle
This role is full time, 35 hours per week provides hybrid working arrangements with on average 3 days onsite and the rest of week working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Quality Surveyor
- Demonstrating strong commercial management experience within engineering and/or construction environments
- Applying detailed knowledge of NEC3 and/or JCT contracts within project delivery settings
- Supporting large, complex contracts, bids and commercial strategies
- Managing cost control, change management and compensation events
- Building effective relationships with project teams, supply chain partners and senior stakeholders
Qualifications for the Senior Quality Surveyor
- Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Quantity Surveying
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. UK Sole National only.
