The role
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a portfolio of facility development projects including the design, build and commission docking and berthing facilities for Astute Class submarine maintenance activities.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage a matrixed multi-disciplinary project team, responsible for high, medium and low complexity projects, ensuring safe design and delivery, timely completion and cost effectiveness.
- Responsible for the preparation, mobilisation and implementation of a series of projects through management of a delivery team.
- Cradle to grave management across the portfolio, maintaining high standards of delivery whilst supporting the delivery team with day-to-day management, process and financial control.
- There is a particular focus on developing and maturing company, site capability and facility readiness initiatives and strategies to enable funding, design and delivery.
- Driving high safety standards and expectations across all areas of the business whilst being an ambassador for diversity and inclusion.
- Continually monitor performance, resource and map capability to ensure the team is prepared for current and future demand.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager
- Experience of developing and delivering projects ideally under Babcock CAPEX and MOD New Works regimes.
- Knowledge of marine structures/assets, construction and delivery in this environment.
- Experience of working in highly regulated environment such as Nuclear or Dockyard Construction areas, e.g. knowledge of CDM2015 and other associated construction regulations – including NEC and RIBA processes.
- Knowledge of MOD funding processes - Desirable
- Demonstrates a high level of organisation with the ability to self-manage and interface with internal and external customers with little senior management guidance
Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager
- Masters or Batchelors Degree in either Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Member of APM and CHPP (Chartered project professional).
