The role
As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you will be key in providing professional technical assistance and advice to support ongoing operational availability and maintenance at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

 

Day to day, you’ll be supporting the development of new designs and facility modifications. This will involve a variety of engineering equipment within the facility with an emphasis on mechanical / fuel handling assets:

 

  • Maintaining the content and configuration of the reference design documentation of extant assets through-life.
  • Management of the design development through the whole design lifecycle (requirements development, drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports) for both new and modified equipment.
  • Specifying replacement equipment/components and supporting the production of configuration documentation for permanent modifications.
  • Support to implementation of new designs (Factory Acceptance Testing, supporting Commissioning activities).
  • Supporting asset conditions surveys and producing condition reports / fault-finding on existing assets.

 

This role is full time - 35 hours and will be based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard 2 days per week with hybrid working from home arrangements.

 

Essential experience of the Senior EC&I Engineer: 

  • Operating within nuclear or other high-hazard environments.
  • Producing a range of engineering documentation; reports, specifications, calculations.
  • Experience of cranes/lifting equipment and crane operations or knowledge and experience of other electro-mechanical/hydraulic systems.

 

Qualifications for the Senior EC&I Engineer:

  • Qualified to degree level in an electrical engineering discipline.

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
