The role
As a Safety, Health and Environment Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of the team responsible for the delivery and facilitation of a suite of safety training courses ranging from in-house awareness courses to externally accredited QCF training courses to an array of learners from the Devonport site.
Day-to-day, you’ll be working to provide Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) support to Babcock to ensure we are legally compliant, maintain our safe systems of work and that our workforce remains healthy and injury free.
- Provide professional training to employees with a wide range of experience, predominantly within the Health and Safety discipline. All training to be delivered to a professional standard.
- To maintain the standards set by the relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure training delivery compliance.
- Provide SME support for the routine review and amendment of training course content – ensure Health and Safety training is delivered to comply with current UK regulations and awarding body assessment criteria.
- Support working towards a quality management system whereby all training courses have written objectives and lesson plans. Ensure that training course revisions are tracked on a course assessment specification (aspec) and training content is secure so that consistent course content is delivered.
- Support the provision of a quality management system by adhering to associated paperwork (trainer evaluation and trainer sign off schedules for example) and utilising the Learner Management System.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Safety, Health and Environment Trainer
- Safety, health and environment experience.
- Experience in course design and maintenance.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering safety compliance training in an operational / industrial environment.
- Able to effectively use IT, including MS packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.)
Qualifications for the Safety, Health and Environment Trainer
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Level 3 Award in Adult Education & Training, or equivalent.
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
