The role
As a Project Procurement Specialist, you’ll join a team at the heart of major maintenance, deep maintenance and decommissioning programmes supporting the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on national security while developing your procurement and supply chain expertise within one of the UK's largest and most complex engineering
Day-to-day, you’ll take ownership of the supply chain strategy, delivery and performance for key project activities across our submarine programmes. Working closely with project teams, suppliers and stakeholders, you'll help ensure that critical materials and subcontract services are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
- Managing procurement and supply chain activities for assigned submarine programme projects.
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies for materials and subcontracted services.
- Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support project delivery.
- Monitoring supplier performance and driving improvements across quality, cost and delivery objectives.
- Supporting commercial and procurement governance activities while ensuring compliance with business requirements.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 3 days in the office/onsite.
Essential experience of the Project Procurement Specialist
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Demonstrable experience managing supplier relationships and procurement activities within complex project environments.
- Experience supporting supply chain planning, execution and performance management.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Qualifications for the Project Procurement Specialist
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience - Desirable
- CIPS qualification, or working towards CIPS membership, or an equivalent professional qualification - Desirable
