The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment where your leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills will help deliver essential programmes safely, efficiently and successfully. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for leading the delivery of key work packages, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required scope. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and stakeholders, internal and external resources, to manage their delivery appropriately. You will help drive project performance while contributing to programmes that support national security and critical infrastructure. This role offers excellent opportunities to further develop your project management expertise within a highly respected defence, aerospace and engineering environment.

• Developing, maintaining and controlling project schedules to ensure accurate planning and reporting.
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and budgets to ensure successful financial performance.
• Managing internal and external suppliers to achieve project objectives for time, cost and scope.
• Facilitating collaborative working across project teams, workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Identifying, assessing and managing project risks, opportunities and issues to support successful delivery.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Project Manager

• Managing the safe delivery of complex project work packages.
• Delivering key project management activities including schedule, cost and risk management.
• Developing and agreeing project requirements, scope and delivery solutions.
• Planning, monitoring and controlling work delivered by internal and external resources.
• Securing and managing resources to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications for the Project Manager

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• APM Project Management Qualification.
• Alternatively, membership or accreditation from another relevant professional body appropriate to the nature of the works.
• NEC3 or NEC4 Project Manager accreditation - Desirable

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
