The Role

As a Project Manager, you’ll be at the heart of delivering complex engineering projects that support the UK’s defence and marine capabilities. This is your opportunity to lead initiatives that make a real-world impact, protecting communities, supporting national security and advancing your career in a dynamic and meaningful industry.

Day-to-day, you’ll apply all the central project management competencies to the required level and will have delegated accountability for project financial, commercial and resource decision making.

• Delivering key project management functions including scheduling, financial oversight and risk management
• Supporting the development of accurate financial and schedule estimates
• Managing work packages delivered by internal and external teams
• Applying our Business Management System and reporting via ERP systems
• Engaging stakeholders and supporting communication plans

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Manager:

• Leading change control processes and maintaining rigorous standards
• Managing stakeholder relationships and communication strategies
• Consolidating project plans including scope, schedule, budgets and risks
• Budgeting and cost control across project lifecycles
• Developing and monitoring integrated project schedules

Qualifications for the Project Manager:

Essential:

• Degree in Engineering or Project Management, or accreditation to APM standards
• Or HNC with relevant apprenticeship and experience in engineering or project disciplines

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
