The role
As a Programme Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary.  You will provide management and guidance in support of large multifunctional teams in delivering complex projects.


Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the performance of the portfolio, manage and guide the delivery of projects, deal with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and deal with the full project lifecycle.

 

 

  • Responsible for the health, safety, security, environment and quality performance within the programme
  • Managing the delivery of programme in accordance with the contract schedule and/or cost and to deliver the projected business revenue and margin targets
  • Managing the customer Interface and associated management of the programme including identification and monitoring of programme and business risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing response to these and responding to other issues that affect the programme
  • Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of the programme as defined in the relevant Project Execution Plans (PEP’s), defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities that align with the Business Management System (BMS)
  • Accountable for planning and monitoring the programme financial performance and forecasting); agree plans with the Business Unit Director and submit regular Monthly Review Reports indicating any deviations and corrective action taken

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based onsite at Devonport.


Essential experience of the Programme Manager:
•    Proven delivery experience demonstrating achievement of business revenue and margin targets
•    Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar operational environment / business sector
•    Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC3, NEC4/JCT etc)
•    Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out
•    Extensive experience in managing a portfolio of projects in the Defence Sector

 

Qualifications for the Programme Manager:
•    A bachelor's degree in engineering, project or a related field
•    Ideally have a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner qualification
•    APM qualified preferably to Chartered Project Professional (ChPP)
•    IOSH Managing Safely or higher safety qualifications preferred

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
