The role
As a Principal / Senior Engineer - Nuclear Safety, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support projects across the Dockyard, from existing nuclear and radiological facilities to the design of brand new facilities for the maintenance and upkeep of the Royal Navy submarine fleet.

 

Day to day, you’ll provide nuclear and radiological knowledge and support to the business.

 

  • Provision of technical advice on nuclear safety assessment processes and policy
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and the terms of the site licence
  • Delivery of nuclear safety cases and licencing plans
  • Development and implementation of nuclear safety processes and standards
  • You might also be responsible for acting as an intelligent customer for 3rd party deliverables assuring the output is fit for purpose

 

Essential experience of the Principal / Senior Engineer - Nuclear Safety:

  • You'll possess good interpersonal skills and be competent in verbal and written communication, with the ability to operate and interface effectively with Senior Managers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications for the Principal / Senior Engineer - Nuclear Safety:

  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or have relevant knowledge and experience 
  • Chartered Engineer status is desirable, but not strictly essential if you possess the relevant level of experience in nuclear safety


The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
